Nokia is expanding its twist handset design, first seen on the 3250, by introducing the new 5700 XpressMusic S60 smartphone. The Nokia 5700 has a strong focus on music, and even has a dedicated audio chip to help your tracks sound that little bit better. The three modes of the 5700 – music player, camera, and videophone – can be accessed by twisting the lower portion of the handset.

Music is the main draw for the Nokia 5700, and users can store all their tunes on microSD cards up to 2GB, and can listen to them through Bluetooth stereo headphones or regular headphones with the bundled 3.5mm headphone adapter. The 5700 is compatible with WMA, MP3, AAC, and eAAC+ audio, and users can even load it with DRM protected WMA files. On the imaging front, the Nokia 5700 sports a 2.0 megapixel camera, while data is taken care of with UMTS high-speed connectivity.

All the great organizational features of the S60 smartphone operating system are also present, making the device all the more attractive. The Nokia 5700 XpressMusic is expected to ship during the second quarter of 2007 for 350EUR (around US$460) before taxes.
